A beautiful portrait photoshoot with an artist at their home | Portrait Photo Session in London

I recently visited the talented painter Charlotte McDonald at her home studio in London. It’s always so fascinating coming into the space where an artist makes their work, its like seeing into their mind.

Charlotte is a fine art painter who creates abstract landscapes which are both ethereal and bold in her use of colour and mark making. She primarily paints in oil which allows her compositions the freedom to move resulting in a beautiful fluidity to her work.

It was a delight to see these paintings up close and capture Charlotte at work. We were also joined by her delightful little furry companion, Otter, her studio daschund, who showed great interest in the paintings and the process.

She is doing an exciting collaboration with Bombay Sapphire to create one of their bespoke limited edition labels for their Bombay Bramble ‘Ripe for Discovery Artist Series’. Check it out at Selfridges online where you can also create your own label too!
